Subpoena – the issue of a subpoena (meaning ‘under threat of punishment’ in Latin) can occur where there are Court proceedings ongoing. It is important that the request is carefully crafted not to be too broad, but to specifically identify what is sought so that the recipient of the subpoena knows what to produce.
