2022 has come to an end and slowly the dust from the holiday wears off and we are back to normality and ready to face 2023.
Did you make any resolutions for 2023? Maybe a family holiday, a new home or maybe a new job? Whatever they may be, we wish you every success in achieving them.
One thing that may be on the list of resolutions, or it may even just be in the back of your mind, is the preparation or the updating of a Will, especially when you have spent time over the Christmas and New Year period with family and loved ones.
It is essential to understand that a Will is not locked in, and whatever happens in your life, it can be updated and amended to reflect your wishes. So, should any of the following ring true for you for your 2022 or should they occur in 2023, you should be considering updating or making a new Will:
- Marriage or entering de facto relationship;
- The breakdown of a relationship;
- The death of a loved one;
- Starting a family;
- Buying or selling a home;
- Starting a new business; or
- Health concerns.
Having a Will is a way to ensure that your assets will be distributed the way you want after your death. Our Wills and Estates Team will work with you to provide you with tailored solutions that will offer protection of your assets, sets out your wishes clearly and provide you with the peace of mind that your estate will be managed after your death.
