Once your Divorce Application is filed with the Court, you will be allocated a hearing date usually within 6 to 8 weeks after the filing date. The hearing will be held via telephone and an appearance is only required if you have children under the age of 18. On the date of the hearing the Registrar will (if appropriate) grant the Divorce. Your Divorce will then become legally binding 1 month and 1 day from the date of the hearing.
