‘Drive-Thru’ Weddings

by | May 5, 2020 | Family Law

I Do Drive Thru is giving couples the opportunity to get married in a quirky, quick way without breaking social distancing regulations.   The business was developed after the Australian Government imposed new regulations that limit weddings to only five people – indicating only the celebrant, the couple and two witnesses can attend.

Co-founder Kate Morgan said there are several reasons people get married including proclaiming their love and showing the world the genuineness of their relationship.  Weddings could be considered an essential service.

For this new business, the couple remain in their car throughout the ceremony and paperwork is passed through the window to be signed.  Couples can also choose to have the ceremony live streamed to family members.

Kate said above all else love prevails, even during difficult times like the COVID-19 pandemic.

In light of this idea, and with restrictions around social distancing meaning that signing documents has become more challenging, the team at Nevett Ford are considering a ‘Drive Thru pre-nup’ as complement to  I Do Drive Thru.  Call us now on 03 9614 7111 or email melbourne@nevettford.com.au to discuss how this might work. Remember all you need is love and a pre-nup!
