Persons wishing to travel from Australia to the United States or United Kingdom and who are legally entitled to exit Australia, either because they are not citizens or permanent residents, or have received a travel exemption, need to be aware of the following inbound requirements imposed by each of these countries.
?????? ??????: effective January 26 all inbound passengers must get tested for COVID -19 within three days prior to flying to the US and provide written documentation of their laboratory test results. Airlines are responsible for confirming the negative test result for all passengers, and must deny boarding to any passengers unable to provide one. The US Centers for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) recommends that travellers get tested again 3 to 5 days after arriving in the U.S. and to stay home for seven days post travel.
?????? ???????: From 18th January it will be necessary to provide evidence of a negative COVID -19 test in order to enter the United Kingdom. This requirement applies to all inbound travellers including UK citizens. As with the US, it will be necessary to provide proof of the negative test before boarding a flight. Failure to do so may result in a fine of up to £500. Test results must be in either English, French or Spanish. Translations will not be accepted and the original test result certificate must be produced. If the specific information which is required to be provided is not contained in the certificate it is likely that boarding will be denied. If someone arrives without a test result which includes that specific information they will have committed a criminal offence and could be subject to a £500 fine. It is therefore very important to make sure when arranging a test that the provider is aware of, and complies with all of the UK government testing requirements.
