The following changes have been made by the Australian Department of Home Affairs to streamline processes for the Subclass 858 visa and support the work of the Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce:
- renames the Subclass 858 Distinguished Talent visa the Subclass 858 Global Talent visa
- creates a dedicated pathway for applicants endorsed by the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Global Business and Talent Attraction (Special Envoy) to make a valid visa application
- enables the grant of Subclass 124 Distinguished Talent visas in Australia for applicants who applied prior to 14 November 2020
- enables the grant of Subclass 858 Distinguished Talent visas outside Australia for applicants who applied prior to 14 November 2020.
