Australia and the United Kingdom (UK) have a new ‘in principle’ Trade Agreement.
The impact on Australian migration is that British citizens will be able to apply for working holiday visas up until the age of 35 years. It also allows for up to 3 years of working holiday visas without the need to undertake Regional work.
The Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA) is also introducing a specific agricultural visa to compensate for the loss of farm workers, which will result from the amendments to the UK program.
No time lines have been released with formal arrangements to be put in place. We will advise when the amendments to the program are made.
