TRAVEL WAIVER APPLICATIONS

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many travel plans have been disrupted. Families and couples have been split apart and business visitor travellers may have not been able to attend to critical business meetings. Australia’s International Travel Ban and its exemptions is something that requires careful consideration before travel. We provide immigration law advice in relation to all travel waiver exemption applications. Our services include:

  • Assessing eligibility for travel waiver applications.
  • Advice and assistance for companies requiring inbound travel waivers for their employees.
  • Advice and assistance for families wishing to bring their parents to Australia which currently requires an inbound travel waiver approval.
  • Advice and assistance on strategies to improve the prospect of a travel waiver being approved.
  • Advice in relation to the supporting documents for a travel waiver exemption application.
  • Preparation of the travel waiver exemption application for submission to the Australian Border Force (ABF) Commissioner.

CAREFUL PLANNING

New requirements have been set by the Australian Border Force (ABF) for anyone who is travelling to, or transiting through Australia, after 22 January 2021. Travellers must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test to their airline. This test must be taken within 72 hours or less before the scheduled departure.  Travellers must also complete the Australia Travel Declaration before arriving in Australia.

The situation regarding travel to Australia and the relevant requirements are changing rapidly, including in relation to quarantine requirements.  Therefore, professional legal advice is highly recommended to ensure that your travel plans and objectives can be met.

With all the added complexity of travel at the current time, your circumstances may require our team of travel exemption visa lawyers to work together to help you navigate your travel exemption requirements smoothly.
