If you are seeking to file proceedings over the Christmas and New Year period it is important to note that the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia’s operating hours in certain registries will be reduced over December and January. You can still file material over this period however your case will not be listed for hearing until regular Court hours resume. If a particular matter is deemed urgent by the Court (for example, a child’s immediate safety or significant assets are at risk) then the Court may list the case for an urgent hearing during the closure/reduced hours period.
